Before you go

Pack like a Pro

Like any tropical destination, there are a few things you should have in your suitcase:

  • Lavender (natural mosquito repellent)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Aloe lotion
  • Flip flops
  • Swimsuits
  • Advil (ibuprofen)
  • Electrolyte powder (hydration is key)
  • Copies of your travel insurance
  • A copy of your passport

Get your docs in order

When travelling to Honduras, make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the date of expected departure from the country. Entry to the country may be denied if this guideline is not met.

Currency

It’s more convenient to bring US dollars than Canadian. Either exchange your money at the airport on your way or at a currency exchange in your city (for best rates).

The Honduran currency is the Lempira (L).
